German WWII NSDAP Orts Group Political Cap

A size 56, service-used political officials cap in blue with piping, featuring a high saddle shape and constructed in typical political canvas-like material. The brown velvet centre band is complemented by bright gilt political eagle and cockade, with the enamel on the central political button undamaged. Blue piping indicates Orts Group, with gold cap cords present. The interior sweatband is of substitute leather, creased but intact, and the light cream silk lining retains a complete, though cracked, centre celluloid lozenge with maker’s name and size label (56) bearing the initials WR. One minor moth nip or snag to the lower rear inner edge. The inner foam forehead cushion is intact and soft.
