The album is owned by Horst Volrath containing 108 photographs. The early part of the album has pictures of Volrath as a young child and other family shots, on holidays and living at home in the late 1920’s. Visit to the Reichstag in 1931, other family shots. 1934 shows Volrath as a young Hitler Youth boy with his father, who was an SA officer, standing together. Pictures of Volrath in his Hitler Youth uniform. A wonderful group of miners in their parade uniforms with his father annotated; his father was obviously a miner. Sports events. Shots at sea as part of a KDF outing. We would add at this stage that every image in the album is annotated as to where they are and an approximate date. 1935 shows him in a winter DJ uniform in blue, then with groups of other Hitler Youth boys. September 1936 a map of the school parade with many high-ranking Third Reich SA and SS officers in their black and brown uniforms, with Fritz Sauckel being one of the major contributors identified. Hitler Youth parade of the Napola students with their band, being reviewed by Allgemeine SS officers. These are all large format photographs with excellent clarity. Superb image of Fritz Sauckel sideways on wearing his SS M.33 dagger. The rare addition to the album is the Napola cuff title in red, white and green, which is hand applied and glued at an angle across the cover. If so desired, the cuff title can be removed from the album.
