This famous watch designed just before WWII for Luftwaffe aviators, only two companies produced the Chronograph, the Company of Hanhart in the Black Forest and the Company Tutima in Glashutte in Eastern Germany. In 1998 Hanhart decided to produce a run of 3,000 pieces of the Chronograph, this is identical in every respect to the original WWII version. This example is all complete and appears to have only been worn very few times. The case itself is without any scratches or markings and still has its satin aluminium finish. The protective plastic seal for the reverse side is still in place, protecting the number ‘1638’. All of the Hanhart markings to the inner strap are complete and clear, also the buckle is marked ‘Hanhart’. The watch is complete with its original Eastman leather clothing receipt for 2003, at that time the watch cost £995. Matching cushion for the watch. The guarantee from Hanhart clearly stamped ‘1683’, also a small green tab describing the watch for suitable swimming and snorkelling but not suitable for highboard diving or sub aqua diving. We have had a number of Hanhart Chronographs through our hands recently, this is only one still with its plastic covering to the reverse of the watch, with evidence of hardly any wear use, if any.

Ref; 96718

https://regimentalsmilitaria.co.uk/products/german-wwii-hanhart-luftwaffe-chronograph-1998-recreation
