It is unknown to us what material the upper bust is made from but is in a silver finish and is very finely detailed. Hitler is wearing his SA brown shirt with cross strap, Iron Cross 1st class to his left breast and the eagle and swastika pin to his tie. Facial details are excellent. Signed on the reverse side ‘Schmidt & Hofer’. Etched into the granite on the front of the base in German ‘A wedding gift from the Technical Unit at the Luftwaffe Flying Station of Furth April 1938’. The airfield at Furth was a major Luftwaffe base, also aircraft construction units were based there. At the end of the war it was notorious for receiving thousands of allied prisoners that had been force marched from the eastern territories back into Germany and they were all gathered on the outskirts of the airfield at Furth. A very nice impressive presentation piece.

Ref; 97296

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0859/4420/5648/files/DSC_9201_7dc61262-6f3b-4d36-99cd-f3b71f8178c9.jpg?v=1791971404
