Most patterns are separated by black lines and are three-colour. It is very unusual to obtain a splotch pattern helmet. This example has been completely over-painted from its original apple green in splotches of ochre, green, brown and cream. The helmet has its M.17 steel liner band. It has all three of its liner pads; one is completely adrift from the band itself.
