Minor staining to the body of the cap and some shredding to the material on the reverse side. Soft leather, crushable peak. Standard wide chinstrap with its full leather lining. Just below the waterproof upper inner lining is the trademark of a Los Angeles Beverley Hills retailer. Stamped to the leather lining is the registered ‘Airflow’ trademark. Although some of the material is shredded and is lightly stained, this cap has great appeal.

Ref; 92472

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0859/4420/5648/files/DSC_4900_42e81deb-1d81-4d67-9995-e6c72527866b.jpg?v=1771592587
us-wwii-a2-leather-flying-jacket-with-painted-insignia
US WWII A2 LEATHER FLYING JACKET WITH PAINTED INSIGNIA

A very nice condition size 40 A2 leather flying jacket, manufactured by the Cable Raincoat Factory of Boston. Standard configuration, two front pockets with flaps secured by male/female pop studs, woollen bottom band and cuffs, collar secured with male/female pop studs, two faux epaulettes. The jacket has seen considerable combat wear but has no leather rot. The stitching is strong overall, the skin is slightly thin on the corners of both shoulders, the lining is good, but the usual torn places around the upper inner rear collar area. The zip is manufactured by Kwik and is present and fully functional. Some tears to the cuffs and bottom band, but they are original to the jacket. The remainder of the lining is excellent. Painted on the front upper right-hand breast is a set of bombardier's wings, a squadron patch below, which we have not been able to identify. To the left-hand breast, the outline of a Liberator bomber with a series of 35 bombs indicating 35 missions completed by this U.S. Army Air Force bombardier. We have been unable to identify the squadron patch. A rare jacket of WWII with the wearer completing 35 bombing missions over enemy territory, where the survival rate was very slim.

Ref; 96036

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0859/4420/5648/files/DSC_6192_01201a79-d821-4143-a714-b2d2c46f8183.jpg?v=1772714557
us-china-burma-india-letter-opener
US CHINA BURMA, INDIA LETTER OPENER

A very high-quality bone letter opener in the style of a Ghurkha’s Kukri, 19.5cm long, beautifully engraved on one side the American aviators' arms with the CBI patch to the centre, surrounded by the names ‘India China Burma’. Traces of the original desert paint underneath the further covering of a two colour camouflage used in Italy, of green and black. Quite a few areas of the shell have lost their finish, but a huge amount remains, including the dark red over dark blue added battalion flash for the 9th Royal Fusiliers. The helmet has taken a heavy battle impact to the front rim, which has distorted it slightly and chipped the paint in that area. The 9th Royal Fusiliers were sent to the Middle East in 1942 and fought in Tunisia, then took part in the Italian campaign, including the landings at Salerno and Anzio, suffering heavy casualties. The oil skin liner is all complete, also with its elasticated webbing chinstrap, which has various rust stains. As well as the liner being marked, there is a small 1939 date on both the strap attachment lugs. Collectors may be surprised at the price we are asking for this helmet, recent occurrences of British helmets nowhere near as interesting as this have been selling for huge prices, and we are pleased to see a much deeper interest in British combat helmets of WWII.

Ref; 96162

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0859/4420/5648/files/DSC_7157_21fb82d0-f4d2-40c9-869d-60dee5b52e84.jpg?v=1774535136
russian-wwii-tokarev-semi-automatic-rifle-magazine-original
RUSSIAN WWII TOKAREV SEMI AUTOMATIC RIFLE MAGAZINE - ORIGINAL

A rare original production 10 round magazine for the Tokarev semi automatic rifle of WWII, this is a fabulous rifle, well used all over the Eastern Front.
