More images of officers being hoisted into observation balloons. 17 loose images, all large format excellent exposure of close-ups of all the balloon unit's equipment, trolleyed radio telephone units, the winch vehicles, portable hangers, a balloon crashed in a forest, an observer just being lifted off the ground in the balloon, wearing his full flying equipment. Excellent close-ups of the wicker basket. Accompanying the album is the owner's WWII Third Reich period wherpass. A photograph of himself in civilian dress, age of birth 1894. Pages 12 and 13 give a full list of his units and service from 1914 through to 1918 in balloon units. The long presentation text describes him as a loyal old party member and friend of the Führer. Telschow was a very early party member, his number being 7057, having joined the party in July 1935. He was arrested by British soldiers in May 1945 and committed suicide by slashing his wrists and taking poison. A small booklet for the RAD showing details of how to do exercises. An Ahnenpass book belonging to Alfred Jenson fully filled out. A 1938 booklet on the uniforms and structure of the Hitler Youth with black and white drawn images. A service book of the Hitler Youth of 150 pages, all of which are annotated. A black and white coloured book of the Landjahr. A Hitler Youth photograph album comprising 122 highly interesting photographs. Groups of Hitler Youth parading in town squares, at camps erecting tents. Moving through stations, on a sail training ship, at sea on training ships, good uniform close-up details, views of larger German naval ships and many other images of training of the Hitler Youth. Lastly a very interesting three booklet diary starting in 1938, which is a much smaller format than the other two diaries, all hand annotated ‘Jungvok Dienstbuch’ (Youth Service book) with the second page nicely coloured in with a description of a hammer, bayonet and swastika, the whole book then very nicely hand written in old gothic German, followed by a larger format book starting in April 1940, the book is interspersed with diary entries and black and white photographs of high ranking Third Reich leaders cut out of newspapers. This section of the three-part diary ends in January 1941, and lastly, another diary of the same format and size, which runs from 1941 to 44, with many diary entries interspersed with many black and white newspaper photographs cut out to illustrate the position of the war at the time. The book ends in July 1944. A5 citation for the Luftwaffe Flying Class for bombers in bronze as a member of the same unit, dated 24.2.1943, with ink signature of Commander of the 1st Flieger Division General Major Deichmann. Large A4 size citation for the Sudetenland medal on the 1st October 1938, promotion document to Oberfeldwebel in A4 size, punch holed for filing, a further promotion document, his linen flying license, which is a one-piece linen folded item with identification, punch holed for filing, no photograph. Very scarce and interesting grouping. In December 1942, the German Luftwaffe decided to form night harassment units, copying those already used by the Soviet Air Force, entitled 1st Storkampfstaffel. They used old aircraft, mainly the Gotha and then GO145 biplane in a bomber and ground attack role. An early right-wing activist Schulz joined the Freikorps Marine Brigade Erhardt in 1920. He was an activist in the early days of the NSDAP and came into conflict with the French Occupational Authorities in the Ruhr area. He was one of the founder members of the NSDAP in Gruppe Hamm and later became a member of the SA. He was promoted and demoted a number of times in the late 1920’s and early 30’s, and in June 1932, after joining the SS, Schulz was dismissed from the full-time occupation as a police officer. He finally reached the rank of SS Obersturmbannfuhrer and was leader of the 19th SS Regiment; he also sat as a deputy in the Reichstag. From 1938 to 1940, he was the leader in the Polish Lotz Getto, NSDAP Party Member 22,175, which is a very low number; his SS membership number 15,838 is also low. Approximately in 2010, a large quantity of his Estate was discovered in Germany, which was all split, including some uniform parts, and we obtained a large quantity of the documentation. We have been gradually selling the documentation off over the past few years and have the last 55 documents remaining. Looking through the documents, it can be seen that Schulz was a totally dedicated admirer of Adolf Hitler and the aims of the NSDAP Party. What remains available here are various letters to and from Schulz from a mixture of local Gauleiters and Gau areas, letters to him as the leader in Litzmannstadt, many hand written sheets in Schulz hand, a few post war dated documents and letters, probably no more than three, a headed letter from SS Oberabschnitt Mitte dated November 1935, various small patriotic postcards, letters on the Reichstag headed paper dated 1934, quite a number of propaganda leaflets, hand written envelopes, one 1941 dated copy of a letter regarding the requisitioning of a house in the area of Litsmannstadt, another 1942 letter regarding the raising a local Volksturm unit, interesting postcard of Dr. Robert Ley, the postcard being issued by the Ordensberg Political Training School at Sonthofen in 1937, a full hand written letter and envelope from Schulz. The Hoch-Und-Deutschmeister Regiment was named after one of the most famous regiments of the former Imperial Austrian Army. After being destroyed at Stalingrad, it was re-formed in June 43 as the 44th Hoch Und Deutschmeister Infantry Division and sent to Monte Cassino in November.
